Lessons at Touchstone Farm!

I am very happy to announce that I will be teaching at Touchstone Farm in Temple NH! You may know of Touchstone as The Pony Farm or Horse Power too. This is very exciting news as Touchstone is a wonderful facility. The horses and staff are fantastic.

Our mission and visions are similar; we want people of all ages to experience horses. I love to teach because I know being around horses is a journey that you will never forget. I want others to feel the horse journey as well. It feels great!

So, please, if have been thinking about taking riding lessons check us out! Adults, children and everyone in between. Springtime is great time to start.

Not only do I teach you how to ride I also teach you from the ground up, horse behavior, how to groom, tack up, and of course safety. You will go from developing a relationship with your horse to feeling the freedom a horse allows you to share with him when you sit on his back. The benefits of the horse experience you will receive are like no other.

The Horse Experience you say, wait a minute, what’s a horse experience?

I try to stop and think about that answer. Sometimes it’s hard to put into words. It can be different for some but it can be an emotional experience it can be a bonding, or closeness. It can be exhilarating. It can be scary but make you smile. The feel of a horse when you run a brush over him or the feel of the horse under you. The horse's eyes, their smell and their power. The feeling of one as you advance in your riding. It’s a relationship. It’s something you want to share with others because you want them to feel the goodness that you have felt. This is just some of it, Come find out for yourself.

Our lesson program is on hold while we move and complete renovations. Please check back in the Spring

Groups: Free 2 hour demonstration for children's groups (ie. homeschoolers, 4-H, Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts). Includes demonstrations horse care and handling, and a horse ride for each child.

I do not teach a traditional lesson where a student comes and rides a horse that is all tacked up and ready to go.
Each student must learn from the ground about horses, as well as in the saddle. If a student can learn how a horse thinks, moves and reacts to different situations, body movements and signals, it will make her or him a better horse person.

The experiences we learn from ground work carry over to riding. Students gain confidence when working on the ground with horses. Students will learn to groom, feed, saddle and bridle a horse.
You do not need any experience to start lessons just the desire to learn.

Safety is number #1. Students will need some basic equimpent to get started: a well fitting helmet, riding boots and gloves to start. Riding pants are nice but not needed to start. This spring and summer we will be holding day camp and clinics for children. Lessons are available on Monday, Tuesdays, Friday afternoon and the weekends.

I very much enjoy teaching people about horses and riding. It is not always all about the obvious. People who are around horses learn respect, responsibilty, self-discipline, confidence, patience, and hard work.

Please feel free to call or to schedule a visit or a lesson. Gift Certificates are also available.
